As a team of family members (Brian and Jen, and Son Kirk), they understand the importance and need for professional and honest financial advice when seeking a mortgage loan. They will always follow through and inform all necessary parties on pertinent matters during the lending process… After all, their performance is their reputation!
Brian, Jen and Kirk enjoy a unique working experience which allows them to serve their clients virtually anytime because one, if not all; are always available to answer questions, meet clients, attend closings, educate and bond with referral partners, hold seminars, work on marketing efforts and so on. Each of the team members are Certified Mortgage Planning Specialists; an elite designation held in the Mortgage Community.
Jennifer
Jennifer began her career in the Mortgage Lending industry in 1983 and was a successful mortgage loan underwriter for Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and the Federal Housing Administration for several years. As a veteran in the mortgage lending industry, Jennifer has served in the capacity of District Sales Manager with World Savings and Loan, National Sales Director of LoanChannel.com, and rounded out her management years as Chief Executive Officer and President of The Kirney Group, Inc., a small Mortgage Brokerage Firm in Virginia.
In addition to being a Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist, Jen holds a Commercial Lending Certificate, is VHDA and FHA 203(k) certified, sits on various advisory boards both in and out of the lending industry, and is active in several networking organizations in Northern Virginia. She was recognized by the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women as ‘Woman of the Year’ in 1994. She is also a certified instructor for the Northern Virginia Board of Realtors. Prior to entering the Financial Services industry, Jennifer attended Colorado State University and the Denver Institute of Technology, majoring in Construction Design/Architecture.
Brian
Brian began his career in lending as a Loan Officer with World Savings and Loan in 1992 and shortly thereafter moved on to becoming a Settlement Officer with a Washington DC metro Title Company where he met most of his current clients and referral partners. Prior to becoming a Lender, Brian was a Certified Master Mechanic and Sales Manager for Goodyear’s National Drag Racing Division. He holds an inactive Virginia Realtors License.
Away from the office, Brian and Jen enjoy their time on their 21 acre hunt country farmette in western Loudoun County. Brian and Jen enjoy visiting neighboring land owners such as The Watson’s, who have lived in the county for over 75 years; the local Co-op Farm to pick vegetables and fruits for their new hobby of canning; or attending a local community fair, festival or vineyard. Additionally, when relaxing on their property on starlit evenings with a glass of Virginia wine, they love playing with one of their three dogs—a beagle, and two sweet Maltese.
Kirk
Kirk began his career in the Mortgage Lending to initially assist Brian and Jennifer with their practice. He quickly decided that a career in the family’s line of work suited him well. He now works along side his parents as a highly successful Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist.
In 2008, as a REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) Associate for BB&T Capital Markets in McLean, Kirk performed extensive market research regarding current trends, economic factors and investment considerations influencing real estate markets. He has constructed complex valuation models to evaluate core real estate investments. His coverage included Multi-Family, Industrial, Retail and Lodging REITs.
In 2007, Kirk worked as a Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst for Deutsche Bank Securities in their New York headquarters. He prepared highly confidential client merger models assessing leveraged buyouts and corporate divestitures. Deal teams included the Gaming, Apparel and Natural Resources industries.
A graduate from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance; Kirk has extensive knowledge surrounding the Investment Banking, REITs, Derivatives Trading, and Mortgage Lending industries.
